The U.S.-Japan Council Annual Conference is a yearly event that brings together regional, national and international leaders from the government, business, academia and nonprofit sectors to discuss the current status and future outlook of the U.S.-Japan partnership across a range of timely and relevant topics. Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies in Japan Next Generation Activities (October 27-28): The conference will also host training seminars and workshops for USJC’s next-generation leaders from the Emerging Leaders Program, TOMODACHI Initiative, and Watanabe Scholarship Program.ELP50 Tokyo (October 25-26): USJC will select 50 rising star Japanese American leaders for a 2-day visitation program that elevates their knowledge of Japan, introduces them to Japanese top leaders, and connects these next generation leaders to their Japanese counterparts.Post-Conference Excursions (Beginning October 29): From trying your hand at traditional pottery-making or taking a dip in hot springs, to wandering through national parks and precious heritage sites, post-trip excursions offer the opportunity to learn more about Japanese history and culture while spending more time with USJC’s network of leaders.Networking Dinners (October 27): Optional networking dinners will take place throughout Tokyo, offering the opportunity to try local cuisine while networking with other conference attendees in an intimate and casual setting.Members Day (October 27): USJC Members are invited to attend an additional day of programming to receive organizational updates, meet USJC leadership and network with fellow Council Leaders and Associates.Public Symposium (October 28): Open to the public, the Public Symposium of the Annual Conference will offer a stage for critical conversations on topics relevant to the U.S.-Japan relationship with an emphasis on government, business, nonprofit and next-generation leadership.For non-Japanese or non-Japanese resident participants, obtaining this ERFS certificate is required upon applying for a Japanese visa. ERFS certificates are given to those with “special exceptional circumstances” (see the New Border Measures (29) for more information), and they are allowed for new entry into Japan.
